Wipro Q4 consolidated net profit rises 4% to Rs 3,087 crore

IT Major Wipro Ltd Friday reported a consolidated net profit of ₹3,087 crores for the quarter ended 31 March 2022, up 4% from ₹2,972 crores a year ago. which was in line with analysts' expectations. The Bengaluru-based company's consolidated revenue from operations rose merely 0.3 percent on quarter to Rs 20,860.7 crore for the reported quarter, up 28.4 percent from Rs 16,245.4 crore in the year-ago quarter. “We have had an outstanding year, finishing with $10.4 billion in revenues, and an industry-leading growth of 27% year on year. This is our sixth straight quarter of strong revenue growth at or over 3%," said Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte. Wipro said it expects revenue from our IT services business to be in the range of $2,748 million to $2,803 million. This translates to a sequential growth of 1% to 3%. Read more

The Nifty IT index was ruling nearly a percent higher today(13th Sept.2021), bucking the overall weak trend in the markets. shares of Mindtree were up 3 percent while Mphasis, Coforge, Wipro, and TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) gained between 0.7 percent and 2.2 percent. According to some analysts, the sector will continue to see re-rating in the near to medium term. "We believe current valuations will sustain driven by liquidity + TINA (there is no alternative) + FOMO (fear of missing out) factors. Also, with pricing power returning, the IT-services sector is closing in on FMCG fundamentals. Lastly, mid-caps will continue to trade at a premium to large-caps in the near to medium term, driven by a never-before outperformance in revenue growth relative to large-caps for at least the next two years," they said. BSE IT index hits record high

Today (11th June 2021)Shares of information technology (IT) companies were in demand on the bourses with Wipro and Tech Mahindra hitting all-time highs, while Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys were quoting close to their respective record highs on the BSE. Besides Wipro and Tech Mahindra, a total of 10 stocks including Mastek, Mindtree, Happiest Minds Technologies, Mphasis, and Coforge too hit their new highs in Friday's intra-day deals.TCS, meanwhile, gained 3 percent to quote at Rs 3,309, while Infosys was up 2 percent at Rs 1,451.55. TCS had hit a record high of Rs 3,358 on April 9, 2021, and Infosys had touched a high of Rs 1,480 on April 12. Among other individual stocks, Tech Mahindra hit a record high of Rs 1,082, up 2 percent on the BSE, surpassing its earlier high of Rs 1,081.35 touched on January 11, 2021. Wipro surges 8% touches 52 week post March results

Shares of Wipro rallied 10 per cent to Rs 473 and touched 52 weeks high on the BSE in intra-day trade on Friday after the company reported a healthy IT services revenue growth and margins in the March quarter (Q4FY21) in the last 10 years. The company’s consolidated net profit grew 27.78 per cent year-on-year (YoY) at Rs 2,972 crore, as against Rs 2,326 crore posted in the same period last year. On a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, the profit increased marginally by 0.14 per cent, compared to Rs 2,968 crore reported in the December quarter of FY21. Its consolidated revenue from operations climbed 3.4 per cent YoY, 3.67 per cent QoQ to Rs 16,245 crore in the recently concluded quarter. Wipro also said that the interim dividend of Re 1 which was announced in January this year, will be considered as the final dividend for the financial year 2020-21.

Wipro announces ₹9,500 crore buyback plan at ₹400 per share,Profit Rises 3% In September Quarter

Wipro, the fourth largest Bangalore based IT services company in India, has reported a 3.2 per cent sequential growth in consolidated profit for the quarter ended September 2020, and also announced a share buyback of Rs 9,500 crore. Consolidated profit increased to Rs 2,465.7 crore for the quarter, compared to Rs 2,390.4 crore in the previous quarter. Wipro's gross revenue rose 1.4 per cent sequentially to ₹ 15,110 crores and revenue from IT services increased 3.7 per cent to $1,992.4 million. Wipro will buy back 23.75 crore shares or 4.16 per cent of the total paid-up capital. at ₹ 400 per equity share, the company said in a press release. The record date of the said buyback was not fixed. Wipro also announced that the company entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Eximius Design India private Limited, an engineering services company with expertise in semiconductor, software and systems design for a total consideration of about ₹100 crores. Wipro share price gains 5% on appointment of new CEO & MD

IT major Wipro share price gained 5 per cent intraday on May 29 after the company appointed Capgemini's Thierry Delaporte as CEO & Managing Director of the company effective July 6, 2020, He will be based in Paris and report to Rishad Premji. In January this year, the company had said its CEO and Managing Director Abidali Z Neemuchwala had decided to step down from the company. Abidali Neemuchwala will relinquish his position as CEO and MD on June 1. Delaporte was the Chief Operating Officer of Capgemini Group and a member of its Group Executive Board. During his twenty-five year career with Capgemini, he held several leadership roles. Thierry has a Bachelor's degree in Economy and Finance from Sciences Po Paris and a Masters in Law from Sorbonne University. Read more
