Today ( Thursday 19th March) Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a national broadcast asked people to sacrifice "their some weeks and time" as coronavirus has no cure yet, the only way to stay safe is to stay indoors.
"I request all people in the country to get out of the house only when it is extremely necessary, try and do all work from home," he said. He made a fervent appeal to all Indians to stay indoors as much as possible to avoid getting infected by coronavirus, saying the world has never seen a danger as grave as this. A Covid-19 task force has also been set up under the finance minister to tackle the pandemic.
He called for 'Janta curfew' on March 22 from 7 am-9 pm, saying no citizen, barring those in essential services, should get out of the house.
