Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corp (IRCTC) stock tanked nearly 50 percent in two days after touching a record high of Rs 6396 on account of profit booking. It declined 18 percent to hit an intraday low of Rs 4371.25 on the Bombay Stock ExchangeThe market capitalization of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has declined to Rs 69,936 crore in intra-day trade today. It touched Rs 1.02 lakh crore in intra-day trade on Tuesday and has been included among nine stocks/securities under futures and options (F&O) ban for trade by the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. On this speculation, investors started squaring up their positions and booked profits in the stock. The Indian benchmark indices opened a quiet note amid positive global cues today(20th Oct.2021). The BSE Sensex opened 84 points higher at 61,800, and after touching a high of 61,873, the index soon slipped into the negative zone. The BSE Sensex was down 164 points at 61,553. The NSE Nifty touched a high of 18,458 but was down 64 points at 18,355. Among the Sensex 30 stocks, Tata Steel has slipped 1.5 percent. Asian Paints, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Auto, IndusInd Bank, and NTPC are the prominent losers. On the other hand, Nestle India, Larsen & Toubro, HCL Technologies, Infosys, and Bajaj Finance were up marginally. In the broader market, IRCTC has hit the 10 percent lower circuit at Rs 4,830. The stock had crossed the Rs 1 trillion mark yesterday in intraday deals after it hit a fresh all-time high at Rs 6,393. The Indian markets were trading on a firm note in morning trade today(19th Oct.2021), with the BSE Sensex up 394 points at 62,159, and the NSE Nifty up 112 points at 18,589. The broader market was also trading on a firm note, with both the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices up around 0.8 percent each. The overall market breadth was also largely positive, with nearly 1,700 advancing shares versus 1,100 declining stocks on the BSE. IRCTC joined the elite club of companies commanding Rs 1-trillion market capitalization (m-cap) on the BSE after its share price hit a new high of Rs 6,332.25 in the intra-day trade today. The shares rallied nearly 8 percent today and have zoomed 33 percent in the past five trading days and a whopping 293 percent in the last six months. L&T Infotech surged 10 percent to a high of Rs 6,496 on the NSE on the back of 21 percent YoY growth in Q2FY22 net at Rs 552 crore. Revenue was up 25.6 percent at Rs 3,767 crore in the same period.

IRCTC zooms 97% from April low and now among 100 most valuable firms on BSE

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) entered the top 100 most valuable listed companies' club after its stock hit a new high of Rs 3,041.20, up 6 percent on the BSE in intra-day trade today(6th Sept.2021). The stock has rallied 97 percent from its low of Rs 1,541 touched on April 19, 2021. With Rs 48,213 crore market capitalisation (market cap) as of 11:44 am, IRCTC stood at 95th position in the overall market cap ranking on the BSE, the exchange data shows. The state-owned company surpassed Colgate-Palmolive (India), Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company, Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL), Balkrishna Industries, ACC, and Bandhan Bank in the market cap ranking today. IRCTC tanks 13 per cent as govt to sell 20% stake via OFS

Shares of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) slipped 13 per cent to Rs 1,405 on the BSE on Thursday as the government will sell up to 20 per cent stake in Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation through an offer for sale which opens for subscription today for non-retail investors and will open tomorrow for retail investors. The floor price for the offer shall be Rs 1,367 per share, a 16 per cent discount to Wednesday’s closing price of Rs 1,618 on the BSE. The government would divest 15 per cent equity with a 5 per cent greenshoe option. The promoter proposes to sell up to 24 million equity shares of IRCTC, representing up to 15 per cent stake, with an option to additionally sell 8 million shares, representing 5 per cent of the total issued and paid-up equity share capital”, the company said in a regulatory filing. IRCTC shares gains 8 per cent on additional special trains and after reports government may sell 15-20% stake

Shares of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) gained 3 per cent to Rs 1,460 on the BSE on Tuesday, rising 7 % in the past two trading days on the operation of additional special trains with effect from Saturday, September 12. and also after media reports indicated that the government is planning to sell 15-20 per cent of its stake in the company via offer for sale (OFS). The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 1,995 apiece in February this year since then the stock has corrected nearly 27 per cent. “Indian Railways to run additional 40 pairs of more special trains in addition to the Shramik specials and the special trains, w.e.f. 12th September 2020. These will be fully reserved trains. Tickets can be booked from 10th September 2020,” Ministry of Railways said.IRCTC reported a 79.3 per cent jump in net profit from a year ago. IRCTC gains 5% as online booking for passenger train starts at 4PM today

Shares of Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) were locked in 5 per cent upper circuit at Rs 1,302.85 apiece on May 11 as the online booking for passenger train operations started at 4 pm today and will be available only on the IRCTC website. Ticket booking counters at railway stations will remain closed and no counter tickets (including platform tickets) will be issued. Indian Railways will gradually resume operations of passenger trains from May 12, initially, with 15 pairs of trains (30 return journeys), the government has said on Sunday. These trains will be run as special trains from New Delhi station connecting Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Trivandrum. The stock corrected 58 per cent in the past month from its high seen in February due to COVID-19 crisis but rallied 60 per cent from its closing low of March. There were pending buy orders of 134,304 shares, with no sellers available today.

IRCTC enters top-100 Market capitalisation league

As the stock zooms 99% in one month, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has entered the list of top 100 companies with the highest market capitalisation (m-cap). The scrip scaled its all-time high of Rs 1,995 on February 25 to long 522 per cent gain from the issue price. With an m-cap of Rs 31,744 crore at 12:05 pm, IRCTC stood at 96th position in the overall market capitalisation ranking, the BSE data shows. On its listing day, October 14, 2019, the company's m-cap stood at Rs 11,658 crore and was ranked 194th. The company had declared an interim dividend at the rate of Rs 10/- per share, which is 100 per cent of paid-up share capital. The stock already turned ex-date for dividend on Monday, February 24, 2020. IRCTC is a unique player and one of its kind in the market. The company is the sole provider of online tickets, catering services and packaged drinking water to Indian Railway passengers.
