The Indian benchmark indices today(21st Sept.2021) rose, defying the weak global market sentiment, tracking gains in IT majors and Reliance Industries.
The BSE Sensex rose 265 points to 58,710 while the NSE Nifty added 58 points to trade above 17,450 levels. HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, TCS, and Asian Paints were among the top gainers in the Sensex pack of stocks. On the other hand, Nestle, Maruti, and Ultratech Cement were the only losers.
The broader indices traded in tandem with the benchmarks. The BSE Midcap index added 0.31 percent and the BSE Smallcap 0.25 percent.
