The benchmark indices in India edged up in early deals today(18th June 2021), but off the day's high, amid mixed global cues.
The S&P BSE Sensex traded around 52,390, up 70 points and the broader Nifty50 index was holding the 15,700-mark. Bajaj Finserv and Sun Pharma gained 1 percent, each, and were the top Sensex gainers. On the other hand, ONGC fell 2 percent.
The Nifty sectoral indices traded mixed, with the Nifty IT index, up 0.8 percent, leading the gainers.
In the broader markets, the S&P BSE MidCap index fell 0.2 percent while the SmallCap index was up 0.25 percent.
Fifty-two companies, including Ashoka Buildcon, GMR Infrastructure, Hinduja Global Solutions, Insecticides (India), and Welspun Specialty Solutions are set to release their quarterly earnings today.
