The markets in India edged higher in early deals today(3rd June 2021), up half a percent, tracking similar cues from other Asian markets.
The S&P BSE Sensex gained 320 points at 52,170 levels, and the Nifty50 index topped the 15,650-mark. Titan rose 4 percent and was the top Sensex gainer, followed by Reliance Industries (up 2%).
The Nifty sectoral indices were painted green, led by the Nifty Metal index, up 1 percent.
In the broader markets, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indexes ruled 0.7 percent and 0.9 percent higher, respectively.
Twenty-nine companies, including GSPL, Arvind Fashions, and APL Apollo Tubes, are slated to announce their quarterly results today.
