MARKET UPDATE: Sensex lowered over 300 points to trade around 59,151 levels while Nifty50 declined over 50 points to trade below 17,400 levels

Indian markets edged lower in today's(27 February 2023) intra-day trading session, amid subdued global cues. Key indices Nifty50 declined over 50 points to trade below 17,400 levels, whereas the S&P BSE Sensex lowered over 300 points to trade around 59,151 levels. Broader markets, too, inched lower as Nifty MidCap 100 and Nifty SmallCap 100 indices fell up to 0.4 percent.
Sectorally barring Nifty Pharma, and Nifty Realty indices, which held marginal, all other sectors plunged in the sea of red. Among individual stocks, shares of SpiceJet gained over 1 per cent after the company reported a five-fold surge in net profit in December quarter of FY23.
In addition, shares of ABB India surged over 1 per cent after the company plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore in Indian business over the next five years.
