Indian indices started higher today(27th July 2021), tracking a solid sentiment in global equities. The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex climbed 153 points, or 0.29 percent, to trade at 53,006 levels while the broader Nifty50 was at 15,861, up 36 points.
Broader markets outperformed the frontline indices with the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices adding 0.4 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively. Sectorally, all the indices were in the green, led by the Nifty Metal index, up 1 percent.
Globally, Japan’s Topix index added 0.6 percent, Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.4 percent, South Korea’s Kospi index increased 0.8 percent, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng and China’s Shanghai Composite indices added 0.2 percent each.
About 60 companies, including IndiGo, IndusInd Bank, DRL are slated to post their quarterly numbers today.
