MARKET UPDATE: Sensex flat at 60,508 levels while the Nifty50 traded flat above 17,750 levels

Opening Bell: Indian equity markets opened flat in today's(7 February 2023) trade, amid mixed global cues. Benchmark indices Nifty50 traded flat above 17,750 levels, whereas the S&P BSE Sensex was flat at 60,508 levels. Broader markets, however, outperformed benchmark indices as Nifty MidCap 100 and Nifty SmallCap 100 indices gained up to 0.1 percent.
Sector-wise, Nifty Bank and Nifty Realty indices gained marginally in trade, while the Nifty Metal index was worst hit, as the index declined over 1 percent.
Among individual stocks, shares of Bharti Airtel gained marginally ahead of the December quarter (Q3FY23) results. In addition, shares of Tata Steel lost over 2 percent after the company reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 2,223.8 crore in Q3FY23, on the back of a sharp drop in European realisations.
