HUL Q2 results:Numbers good, revenue slightly higher than estimated: Experts

HUL could be gaining market share in the fabric care business. So that is happening right now and probably would continue in the forthcoming quarters, say experts. According to the prima facie, the HUL numbers are upbeat. In their estimates, both profit, as well as the EBITDA numbers, look higher than what is estimated. Even the revenue number is slightly higher than what they estimated. So the numbers overall look good. We will have to look at it in terms of the volume numbers and the second important factor will be the gross margins. "We were estimating around 5% volume growth for the quarter but the number could probably be slightly higher or in line. We will have to wait and watch out for the volume numbers but our estimate was 5% for the quarter" they say.
The home care segment has done quite well and they are saying that they are led by fabric wash as well.The actual businesses are not so seasonal in nature. The opening does not have a huge, huge impact. While it does have some impact on products like cosmetics. But if we were to look at some of the other segments like fabric care, we do not see that to be significantly impacted because the seasonality is slightly less.
"But having said that, I would say that there is an improvement in the business because the raw material prices have been going up. HUL could be gaining market share in the fabric care business. So that is happening right now and probably would continue in the forthcoming quarters" analysts opined.
