Nifty Auto was down 1.2 percent, Nifty FMCG fell 1 percent, Nifty IT lost 1.5 percent, and Nifty Pharma 2.2 percent. While Nifty Bank was up 0.4 percent. In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices underperformed the benchmarks and slipped up to 0.9 percent.
