Can Modi govt make Budget 2020 good for all?

Ahead of Budget, Anurag Thakur, Minister of State, Finance said the government received suggestions from across India. "Modi govt believes in 'sabka sath, sabka vikas.' We received suggestions from across the country. The government is making efforts that this budget is good for all. "But how far this is possible?

There is huge hope in the minds of "Aaam Aadmi" regarding the Budget. As Modi govt has done in other fronts whether it can do in Economic fronts also. As per the ET survey the current unemployment rate is the highest in the last 45 years. Unemployment among urban youth (age 15-29 years) is alarmingly high at 22.5%. The high unemployment rates is but just one of the problems with India’s employment scenario. The labour force participation rate has come down to 46.5% for those who are 15 years and above. A large proportion of the employed workers get low wage and are stuck in ‘employed poverty’ trap.It is expected that some strong policy chang will be done in this front

In the forthcoming Budget, government intervention through policy and structural reforms is expected to provide the necessary fillip to the agriculture sector which has been facing headwinds for quite some time.

As a measure to boost domestic small and medium industry, the government may consider a hike in customs duty on over 300 items like toys, furniture, footwear, coated paper, rubber items among other in the Union Budget.

Besides giving relief to the domestic industry and boosting employment, the move to keep imports down and help to raise revenue. Many of these are industries which are essentially concentrated in the small and medium sectors and employment intensive.

The breakthrough measure, if it materialises, will be doing away with capital gains on sale of property. The move has the potential to revive the real estate sector, which is in the doldrums and facing immense stress.

Corporate tax rates were cut sharply last year. So now it makes sense to offer that relief to Aam Admi Also! It may be a way to allay the concerns of the middle class; people have been hoping for an income tax cut for a while which never came through for so many years. Hope is high in this front

Thus hope is high in all fronts and this is do or die sort of situation for the govrnment in the crisis riidden economic front due to various national and international reasons
