MARKET UPDATE: Sensex surged over 450 points to trade at 58,538 levels and Nifty50 climbed over 100 points to trade above 17,400 levels

Opening Bell: Indian equity markets opened higher in today's(6 October 2022) trade amid mixed global cues and strong foreign flows. Key indices Nifty50 climbed over 100 points to trade above 17,400 levels and the S&P BSE Sensex surged over 450 points to trade at 58,538 levels. The broader markets, too, traded on a firm note as Nifty MidCap 100 and Nifty SmallCap 100 rose up to 0.9 percent. All sectors were in Green. Nifty Media, Nifty Realty, Nifty IT, and Nifty Metal indices gained the most, in the range of 1 percent to 2 percent.
While L&T, Infosys, Sun Pharma, and Tata Steel, contributed to the gains in benchmark indices; Bajaj Finance, HDFC Twins, and HUL, weighed the indices down.
As far as individual stocks are concerned stocks, shares of SpiceJet advanced over 6 per cent after the Centre allowed the airline to avail loan up to Rs 1,500 crore under ECLGS scheme.
Also, shares of DLF rallied over 3 per cent after the realty major sold all luxury homes in the new Gurugram project within 8 days of launch.
